Professor Catriona Waitt’s journey Liverpool to Uganda for the APT‑Sepsis workshop — where the team comes together to plan the next steps in APT‑Sepsis dissemination.

The adventure started in Liverpool, with anticipation building for what lay ahead. Upon arrival in Uganda, Prof. Waitt was greeted by the breathtaking views of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake, setting the stage for an inspiring week ahead.

A highlight of the journey was crossing the River Nile on the new Jinja Bridge, a symbolic moment that connected the physical journey with the collaborative work to come.

Participants engaged in focused sessions on academic and professional writing, sharing techniques and best practices to strengthen their communication skills. The workshop emphasised the importance of setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals.

The energy throughout the week was palpable. Lively discussions filled the rooms both online and in person as participants shared ideas, challenged assumptions, and built on each other's insights. The collaborative atmosphere fostered an environment where every voice was valued.

Even as rain fell on the final day, spirits remained high. The week concluded with plans emerging with practical next steps that participants could take back to their own contexts. The combination of reflection and forward planning ensured that the workshop's impact would extend well beyond Uganda.
